This report is the result of an independent review of Crofting Connections carried out in March and April 2012. Crofting Connections is a three year project, started in 2009 and now in its final year. It is administered by the Soil Association Scotland in partnership with the Scottish Crofting Federation. The activities of the project are fully described in “Crofting Connections Interim Report, August 2011” and are not repeated here. During the review a sample of participants was consulted using semi-structured face to face interviews; a range of documents related to the project was examined.

Crofting Connections achieved its overall numerical target of involving 1,200 young people and its geographical target of involving 48 schools in all parts of the Highlands and Islands, exceeding its initial school target by 23% and pupil target by 230%.
